Stephen Curry scored 57 points, but it wasn’t enough to beat Luka Doncic’s 42-point, 11-assist performance when the Golden State Warriors lost to the Dallas Mavericks 134-132 on Saturday night.

Curry finished 19 of 31 from the field and 11 of 19 from beyond the arc in 37 minutes. Doncic was 12 of 23 from the field and 7 of 12 from deep in 38 minutes.

Curry, who two weeks ago edged out Reggie Miller for second on the all-time triples list, continues to rack up shooting numbers. Saturday’s performance was the 40th time in Curry’s 12-year career that he had scored at least 40 points in a game and the eighth time he had scored at least 50 points in a game. It was also the 16th time Curry made 10 or more 3s in a game.

Curry dominated throughout, scoring 30 points in the first half as he hit shots all over the court. After hitting a 3-pointer while standing near the Mavericks logo, Curry burst into his famous shimmy, a celebratory move that has marked some of the biggest moments of his career.

Curry added five assists, two rebounds and two steals on a night in which the Mavericks repeatedly threw extra defenders to try to slow down his momentum.

“Every time he threw the ball, he thought it was going in,” Doncic said in a postgame interview with ESPN.

Curry’s outburst comes just over a month after he set a career-high 62 points in a win over the Portland Trail Blazers on January 3.

“Sublime,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said of Curry’s performance: “The shots he was taking were ridiculous. The degree of difficulty. The ease with which he hit them. He never played better. We’re talking about a Double MVP, three times champion, I’ve never seen him like this. He seems so strong to me. Obviously, he has always been an incredible shooter, but he seems stronger to me, just beating people, defending them in edge units, finishing. And of course , shooting is almost unfathomable what he’s doing there. “
