Brooklyn Nets coach Steve Nash was criticized after his statements about Allen Iverson and Kyrie Irving whom he called a much more skilled player than the Philadelphia 76ers Hall of Fame.

“I think Allen was special in his own right,” Nash told HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto. “I think Kyrie is more skilled. Allen was different, electrifying, and a crazy competitor.

Nash also emphasized that while he acknowledges Iverson’s greatness, Irving possesses a unique ability on the court, which in his judgment the legendary Sixers guard did not have.

“The variety and accuracy of shots that Kyrie has is historic. Iverson is one of the all-time greats. Kyrie, if you look at what he’s capable of on the court, he’s also historic in skill level.”

The reaction to Nash’s comments was largely negative on social media, specifically the part where he claimed that Irving is more skilled than Iverson.
