The dispute between the two greatest motorcycle riders of the 21st century seems to have no end. Valentino Rossi has returned to the charge against Marc Márquez in an interview with Corriere della Sera, in which he not only awakens the ghosts of the past, in reference to the 2015 season, but also regrets everything that has happened with Márquez in 2020.

Rossi doesn’t understand why Márquez was allowed to run again so soon last season after his injury, and also reflects on his feelings about the 2015 season, which have not changed. The Italian driver also gives a glimpse of the future of his career.

Rossi believes that he will never be able to forgive Márquez and says that he has not been his toughest rival

“What he did to me is unforgivable. When I think about those days, I have the same feelings as then. And it’s been six years. I find it difficult that this can change. Forgiving him is impossible, “says Rossi about Márquez recalling the 2015 MotoGP season, in which the Italian lost the title against Jorge Lorenzo.

"The Dakar should be an adventure, to race there is Formula 1": We spoke with Javi Vega after finishing 47th on motorcycles, without assistance and with a broken sternum

According to Rossi’s version, Márquez deliberately decided to annoy him at both the Australian and Malaysian Grand Prix, scuffle that ended with the alleged kick of ‘Il Dottore’ to Márquez in Sepang and the penalty on the grid that forced Rossi to start last on the grid in Valencia, making him lose the title. Since then the relationship was broken.

But Rossi has gone further and has also criticized everything that happened around Marc Márquez last season, in which the eighth champion injured his arm. “He wanted to run again too soon after the operation, and I don’t understand how they allowed that to happen.”Rossi comments on the incident.

‘Il Dottore’ believes that “after Lorenzo’s lightning return to Assen in 2013, and to avoid excessive risks, Dorna imposed some limits. With Márquez they all skipped at once, who knows why“Rossi wishes his rival a speedy recovery and would like him to be on the track soon, but leaves him one last message.

“Márquez was not the strongest rival I’ve ever had,” says Rossi, although he adds that “I need to give a diplomatic answer: I am very sorry that he cannot run. If he heals well, something that nobody knows right now, not even he, will be as strong as before.” The pique is still between the world champion and the pilot who was thrown to surpass him, but who is now in doubt.

“Yes to the vaccine, I am ready, I think it is the only hope of returning to normal life”, Valentino Rossi.

In the same interview, Rossi comments that he still looks capable of winning the tenth world cup, although he is not obsessed with it. And it launches an important message for society in times of pandemic: “Yes to the vaccine, I am ready, I think it is the only hope of returning to normal life.” Valentino Rossi is still a genius and a figure.
