In just over a month the new Formula 1 season will begin, and we are already clear where it can be seen in Spain. You have two options to choose from.

The Formula 1 season 2021 promises to be one of the most exciting for Spanish fans. Carlos Sainz will compete with Ferrari in a car to get on the podium (hopefully), and Fernando Alonso is back with an Alpine F1 (Group Renault). On what channels can Formula 1 be followed in 2021?

There is good news in this regard, because fans will be able to choose between two platforms, and it will not be necessary to have a contract with an operator to enjoy the races.

Rights belong to Movistar, but as Auto Bild tells us, it has reached an agreement with Dazn to exchange content, so Movistar and Dazn will broadcast Formula 1 in Spain in 2021. Let’s see the conditions.

As we say, although Movistar has the exclusive rights to Formula 1 until 2023, it has reached an agreement with Dazn, which has the exclusive rights to Moto GP, the Copa del Rey and other competitions. Through this collaboration, both platforms share all these contents, that is, Moto GP, Formula 1, the Copa del Rey and others.

The easiest way to see Formula 1 in 2021 it will be through Dazn. This sports streaming platform can be enjoyed through an app on the mobile or computer, in the browser through its website, on Smart TV with Android TV, on any TV with Amazon Fire TV devices, or using the consoles Xbox One, PS3 and PS4.

This streaming device is more powerful than the standard model of the previous generation, and it has an Alexa remote, although without volume buttons, integrated.

Dazn is priced at € 9.99 per month or € 99.99 per year and it encompasses all competitions, not just Formula 1. Also Moto GP, all football, etc.

For his part Movistar will integrate Dazn into its programming, changing the name of its Movistar Formula 1 channel to Dazn F1. It will offer it in its different Fusion packages, which require having contracted fiber and mobile lines. But it is possible that he will also trade it without having to have Fusion, although it is not confirmed yet. Or maybe I’ll leave that to Dazn.

This Android TV Box model Vontar X1 is a good option if you want to turn your television into a Smart TV with 4K and 6K resolution to watch Netflix, Disney + or Amazon Prime Video.

Both Dazn and Movistar will have the usual team of commentators. Antonio Lobato will continue to narrate the races of the premier class, accompanied by Pedro de la Rosa and Toni Cuquerella, with Noemí de Miguel and Albert Fábrega on the circuits.

As we have commented, the 2021 Formula 1 season will begin on March 28. Here you can check the calendar of the races. The appointment in Spain will be on May 9, at the Circuit de Barcelona / Montmeló.
