Aron will race with Prema in the European Regional Formula by Alpine

The Estonian will share a team with David Vidales

The 17-year-old is part of the Mercedes development program

Prema has announced a new driver for its 2021 European Regional Formula by Alpine lineup: Paul Aron. The Estonian will share a team with the Spanish David Vidales and thus returns to the structure that saw him win the Italian Formula 4 in 2019.

His signing for Prema in the new fusion category of the European Regional Formula and the Formula Renault Eurocup is one more step towards his dream of reaching Formula 1. It should be noted that the 17-year-old has been a Mercedes junior driver since 2019 Thus he joined names like Esteban Ocon or George Russell.

In addition to Italian Formula 4, he also won the European Karting Championship, the WSK Champions Cup and the South Garda Winter Cup and finished third in the WSK Super Master Series.

Aron has been delighted with his return to Prema and believes that it is the right direction to reap success in this 2021. In addition, he admits that he is looking forward to the start of the season on April 24 at Spa.

“I cannot express how grateful I am for this opportunity. I am very happy to be back with Prema for the 2021 season of European Regional Formula by Alpine. The team is like a second family to me. We managed to have an amazing year together in Formula 4 and I am sure they are the ingredient I need to have a successful year. I cannot wait for the season to begin, “he said in statements collected by the Prema website.

For his part, Angelo Rosin, team boss, makes clear his confidence in Aron and in his growth since 2019 that they shared in Italian Formula 4. In addition, it highlights the importance of the Estonian already knowing the car, something that can help him in front of other drivers.

“It’s great to welcome Paul back. He impressed us on his single-seater debut and we can’t wait to see how he has progressed and matured. We are sure he has exceptional potential and the fact that he already knows the car and the engine means which will be an even more valuable asset, “he said.
