As per usual, we will be taking a look at the top performers from each position in Fantasy Premier League this week - highlighting how and why they earned their points total, and whether they may be a good inclusion into your side for gameweek 4.

So without further ado, let's dive in and showcase some of the best players from this weekend...

Goalkeeper: Illan Meslier - 10 points

The young Frenchman had a fantastic game against Sheffield United on Sunday - managing 10 points. The 20-year-old managed four saves against the Blades, earning him 1 point towards his total, as well as keeping a clean sheet which added another four points. During the game, Meslier managed two world-class saves from point-blank range to prevent Sheffield from scoring, which earned him the spoils of the bonus points ranking with three at the end of the game.

Those points along with the minute's points rounded his total to 10 and made him the highest-earning goalkeeper for GW3. Leeds face Manchester City this Saturday, and it is unsure how that game may play out - but Meslier is certainly a fantastic option for the coming weeks at just £4.5m.

Defender: Arthur Masuaku & Tyrone Mings - 12 points each

Both Tyrone Mings and Arthur Masuaku managed 12 points this weekend in Fantasy Premier League, making them joint-top on the list of points for defenders. Mings managed to keep a clean sheet giving him the four points needed, as well as scoring a goal for Villa giving him another 6 points.

The defender did receive a yellow card, however, meaning he received -1 points, which would have made him top the list if it hadn't;t been for the disciplinary. West Ham fullback Masuaku also managed a clean sheet as well as an assist, giving him 7 points towards his total - that coupled with his minute's points and a bonus three gave him his 12 points, tieing with Tyrone Mings this gameweek. Villa faces Liverpool for GW4, with West Ham facing Leicester, so the pair may be better left untouched.

Midfielder: Jarrod Bowen - 15 points

West Ham hard a barnstormer of a weekend, winning 4-0 against Wolves - with two of those goals coming from Jarrod Bowen. The Englishman enjoyed his best performance in a Hammers shirt this weekend, with his first brace in the Premier League.

His two goals earned him 10 points towards his total, as well as a point for the club keeping a clean sheet - and as well as receiving two bonus points and the obligatory minutes points rounded his total to 15 for gameweek 3, making him the highest-earning midfielder for this GW3 in West Ham's first win of the season. The Hammers face Leicester City this weekend, making a tough game for David Moyes' side, meaning Bowen may be better left alone for GW4.

Forward: Jamie Vardy - 17 points

The 33-year-old appears to be aging like a fine wine, managing a hattrick this weekend against Manchester City in the Foxes 5-2 win over the Cityzens. Unsurprisingly, this made Vardy the top points scorer out of any forward for gameweek 3 with 17 points.

His three goals gave him 12 points towards his final total, as well as receiving the top accolade for the bonus points with three. Those points on top of the 2 extra for playing the minimum amount of minutes gave the Englishman his final total, putting him four points ahead of second-placed Callum Robinson for West Brom. The Foxes face West Ham for GW4, and Vardy may be a great option to transfer in if not already in your squad.
