The women’s basketball team suspends the ‘stage’ in France due to an inconclusive result

The Spanish women’s basketball team will not finally carry out the planned concentration in the French town of Toulouse after detecting an inconclusive result in the expedition after the coronavirus tests.

“After the inconclusive result of the COVID test of one of the members of the technical body of the women’s team, and for the safety of all the players and the technical ‘staff’, the Spanish Basketball Federation has decided to suspend the concentration and the matches that were to be played against France in Toulouse “, confirmed the FEB.

The federative body pointed out that “in the next few hours the result of the doubtful test will be confirmed”, but whatever this may be, this concentration has been “permanently suspended”, a decision that, “following the same criteria of caution”, it also affects the selection of the 3×3 modality “since both teams were concentrated in the same hotel”.

The president of the FEB, Jorge Garbajosa, thanked the French Federation for both the facilities offered when planning these meetings, as well as the understanding shown before the suspension that has now had to be decided.

The current Olympic runner-up had planned to carry out a ‘stage’ with 14 players between February 2 and 7 in Toulouse, a concentration that was going to be held in the ‘bubble’ format, to minimize the risk of contagion, and that was going to have two friendly matches against the French team on Friday 5 and Sunday 7.
